Wubba lubba dub dub! Rick and Morty is back for its third season after a gruelling two year wait. If you're looking to get schwifty with your favourite alcoholic scientist, these are the easiest legal options - well, at least in this dimension.
A Netflix subscription is the simplest way to watch Rick and Morty in Australia, but there is a slight catch. While the episodes air on Mondays in the United States, they won't end up on Australian Netflix until the Saturday after. For example, this week's episode won't be streamable until this Saturday.
All things considered, a five-day wait isn't terrible given how long it takes some shows to get to Australia, although this does ostensibly put us a week behind.
Netflix Australia is also home to the first two seasons of Rick and Morty, so they’re there for your binging pleasuring if you need to catch up.
Adult Swim and a VPN
If you're impatient, Adult Swim is making each new episode of Rick and Morty available to stream for free on its website as they air internationally. Technically, this only meant to be accessible in the US, but you can bypass these restrictions using a Virtual Private Network (VPN).
A VPN ostensibly allows you to access the internet through another computer's internet connection. Without a VPN, you're probably reading WhistleOut from Australia. With a VPN, your connection to the website could be coming via the United States, but relayed back to your computer locally.
F-Secure's Freedome is our go to recommendation, but you'll need to pay for a year upfront. If you'd prefer a month-to-month to last you for the duration of the show, Private Internet Access is a good solution.
Using a VPN to bypass geo-blocking is not illegal under the Copyright Act.
New episodes of Rick and Morty season 3 air at 1:30PM AEST on Mondays.
