If you're looking at connecting to the National Broadband Network, you'll have a choice of four different speed tiers. If you've got the need for speed, NBN 100 (previously referred to as a tier 5) is what you're after.
NBN 100 is currently the fastest (widely available) internet connection speed that money can buy. NBN 100 plans offer download speeds of up to 100Mbps and upload speeds of up to 40Mbps.
NBN 100 is best for who are downloading or uploading large files on a regular basis. For example, if you're working with video on a daily basis, or if you're a gamer who predominantly buys games through digital storefronts like Steam, the Xbox Store, or PSN.
NBN 100 speeds are also great if you want to keep regular offsite back-ups through services such as BackBlaze, OneDrive, Dropbox, iCloud, or Google Drive.
It is however worth noting that even if you are paying for the fastest NBN speeds you can get, you might not get these consistently. Common causes include congestion, your distance from the node, and modem or Wi-Fi issues.
NBN 100 is available on FTTP, FTTN, and HFC NBN plans.
